Now on to the computer drawing that took me 2 weeks to do amidst 40 million other things occuring daily. I would've never attempted this picture were it not for the talented Fallen-Devil-Yamiko telling me some photoshop tips.
I went berserko on using layers for this picture. 19 last I checked and each one I used to its max abilities. The HARDEST layer was the second which is the the magnificent sky. I had to color it, blend it AND erase away so I could see where the hell these two lasses went. Everything else came pretty easy afterwards, even the Dutchman cloud *squee*

Now WHO ARE THESE CHICKS?
These are Irish-Spitfire's characters. NOT MINE, so this is Fan-art of someone elses Fan-art. I've done this since *whistles* I met Kitty, Yami, and Lil so it comes natural by now. They are her Flying Dutchman OC's.
Currently she and I have an rp going on in the notes of DA
(sounds so suspicious eh?) Where I'm using Eara from my OC stash.
She has a fanfic called Caribbean Fire, that I really recommend for YOU to read, if I ever stop rp-ing and bugging her mebbe she could put up more chapters *grins* but that's not happening so NYA!

Now here's the bender in this picture, this is a FLIPPED portrayal of her characters. If you know Katelyn Gibson (red hair) She's called a spitfire for a reason and I always pictured in the sort of flamboyant captain uniform. So I based the design ON Irish-Spitfire's reference pic but chose colors contrasting her character which were dull and dim colors to stand out from the blazing sunset which she really is.
Cerulean Gibson is the older sister of Katelyn and she is a more cooling and calm demeanor and a somewhat maternal feel in her from the rp we've created. She is more dignified and conservative, and I liked the idea of her being more secretive like the night. But to add the same effect I did to Kate I gave her a radiant red gown that'd really match the sunset.

Everyone - WHAT'S THE POINT OF FLIPPING THEM THOUGH?

Well I tried with them matching and it was too...seperate it was like to pictures shoved next to eachother so I sort of tweaked th colors and made them more interlocked. Even with the sea.

At Sunset the ocean is BLACK almost so you see only the sun's flares while on cloudy dies it's a ingigo or green. Like I said, the point of the picture was to show their differences and similarities.

Everyone - Why's the Flying Dutchman in the sky?

Well...that's the fun part, to me when the sun sets it represents the direction in which our life is concluding at. (think Lion King for a minute)
For both of them, the Flying Dutchman is their fate, and could possibly be the setting of it, THAT and I just thought it looked cool that way.
